Pair this with a quality amplifier and for my preference, a natural-sounding DAC, and feed it some good power and you will get one of the paciest and resolving presentations out there.
Being my first Abyss headphone experience, the Diana TC did a phenomenal job showing me what I’ve been missing. The TC is an incredible sounding open-back planar, with a wide and immersive soundstage brimming with accuracy. The realism of its timbre expands from the bass and well into the upper treble, never giving the music any rest as its quickness establishes a pristine sense of resolution. It is also impeccably designed as well, although I prefer my headphones to feel a bit tighter on my head. I like my headphones to have a more firm grasp on my head, but the Diana TC still has exceptionally comfortable pads as a trade-off. There is an elite tier of open-back headphones in this price range, and the Diana TC proudly joins their ranks.
This is the Abyss Magic. The TCD offers what is most enjoyable about the 1266, in a smaller form factor with the overall comfort level dialed in totally. The sound quality, the overall QC and workmanship, and the comfort level…is all supplied by this gear in generous spades.
Sound-wise :
This is perhaps the best sounding Abyss House Sound combined with a refined headband and comfort level..
It is absolutely the most comfortable Abyss gear ever created.
Ultimately, the DTC is special in the most important way, and that is…..the gear mostly disappears and allows the music to come alive….. always in Abyss fashion, sonically speaking.
The Diana TC is an excellent high-end headphone. If you like excellent PRaT, precision, a high resolution and an airy, spacious presentation, then the TC will be the perfect headphone for you.
The TC is also small in size, which makes it one of the most portable high-end headphones on the market and for on the go. The downside here is that it needs good amplification, and not just power.
After spending multiple months with the Diana TC it is very easy for me to grant it our Recommended Buy Award. It is replacing the Diana Phi from our Best Buy Headphone list, where it is in good company.
